I'm a keen reader of things Scientific and have been since I was a little tyke. I used to enjoy reading Omni magazine (before it turned into the National Enquirer of Science - grr)
Over the years, I've Acquired quite a collection of Science books, from chemistry to chaos theory, Quantum mechanics to cosmology, genetics to medicine. I like to stay Current, and to dig deep into the topics, to bring science to those I meet in an Understandable form, and to cast a Skeptical eye where I look.
It's Amazing how far we've come, and how far we can go. Plate tectonics theory is less than 100 years old, and Debates continue on things like non-locality (Einstein's "spooky action at a distance") and the Exact mechanisms of evolution. There is Plenty left to discover, and so much sound science to Base it on.
One thing to keep in mind in this day and age is that the math Describes nature, it does not Define nature. Ptolemy had a system of circles inside O circles O called epicycles (a cool Java applet to demonstrate them is here) to describe how planets and the Sun Revolved around the Earth. While Mathematically sound, it did not describe the 'true' Situation, as most of you know.
I love to discuss. If you have thoughts to Contribute or an interesting Link, please contact me.
Until then, enjoy a few of my thoughts on the subject of Science...SCIENCE THOUGHTS
